Beginning Tuesday, June 26th 2012, we will be gathering donations for local & national charities! A percentage of the day's dine-in proceeds will go to the select charity or organization.

Cure T1D

  Cure T1D is a non-profit corporation based in Michigan dedicated to helping find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

As many as 3 million Americans may have type 1 diabetes, but things are looking up. Some very exciting research is going on. Since 2001 a doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Faustman, has been on the path to a cure. In 2001 she reversed type 1 diabetes in mice using a cheap vaccination called BCG. This past year the lab completed phase one of their human trials with great success. Now, they need funding to begin phase two. These trials demonstrate a lot of hope for those with type 1 diabetes. Dr. Faustman may be extremely close to an affordable, accessible cure!! This is so exciting!!
